Pavement Ant

Pavement-AntAbout 1/8 inch long. Brown in color. Habitat: Pavement ants prefer to next in soil nest to or beneath slabs, patios, driveways or sidewalks. Colonies are usually easy to find due to the piles of soil near the entrance to the colony. Indoors, pavement ants nest in walls, under the foundation or inside hollow block walls. When piles of soil appear from under baseboards or on garage or basement floor, it is a good sign that a pavement ant colony may be present.
